Beginnings…

Karl and Bonnie are a couple from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, who, through their church in Michigan, have dedicated serving others in Honduras for over 20 years. In the early years, they traveled to the inner cities of Honduras with mission teams, providing service and hope to those in need in the poorest parts of the cities.

One day, they received a request from a small village called Guachipilin. The villagers explained that they desperately needed a church in their community. Without a church, they were not recognized by the government and could not receive basic services such as electricity and water.

Karl and Bonnie knew they had to help. They felt that God had lead them to these people after visiting their village up in the mountains of Honduras. They gathered a team of volunteers and set out to raise money and build a church for the village. The work was hard and the conditions were challenging, but they were determined to see it through.

As the days passed, the church slowly took shape. The villagers worked alongside the team, grateful for the hope and opportunity that the church represented. Finally, after weeks of hard work, the church was completed.

The village was transformed. With the church in place, they were able to eventually receive electricity and water for the first time. The villagers were overjoyed, grateful to the team from the USA for their dedication and hard work.

Bonnie and Karl knew that their mission was far from over. They continue to serve the people of Guachipilin, spreading hope and love along with their many family members and friends. And as they look back on the church they built, they know that it is just the beginning of the many miracles they have and will witness in the years to come.
