The Soup Kitchen

Many children come from impoverished backgrounds and struggle to find enough food to eat. Oftentimes lunch would consist of a tortilla and salt…

The soup kitchen project focused on building a soup kitchen for the school. The soup kitchen provides nutritious meals for the students, ensuring that they have the energy and focus to learn and thrive. With the support of volunteers and donors, we were able to construct a cooking facility. The project has not only helped alleviate hunger among the schoolchildren but has also brought the community together to support the wellbeing of their youth. Each family must donate time in the kitchen. Our soup kitchen feeds 115-120 kids a day and costs $850 a month to operate. Some families donate a monthly sum to help with that cost, but as with here, the rise in food costs have really hurt. They mostly have rice, beans, and chicken. It is essential for the kids learning. The teachers have noticed a massive change in the school work since we have started feeding the kids! The money used has rapidly dwindled with higher costs of food. Most of those kids do not get a decent meal everyday.
